ioscan - how quick after boot

Hi!

I want to check disk's statuses (CLAIMED, NO_HW etc.) after boot. How quickly can I check it by ioscan -fnkCdisk? When I invoke ioscan -fnCdisk (without -k option) from /sbin/rc3.d/script all statuses are SCAN.
Can I sure that the output from ioscan -fnkCdisk (with -k option) is actual?

If you get a result with the -k consider this as the last known state by the kernel (of course since the boot).

If you see a status of SCAN this means there is another ioscan already running (maybe started by the diags).

If supported by your OS version, try ioscan -t to get the last time when ioscan was running.

Hi,

When the server startsup it will run the insf command to detect new hardware (in rc level 1), so when you run ioscan with the -k option it will display the latest information.
