Re: ioscan show sctl NO_HW

Shalom,

sctl is a problem with a scsi controller, not a disk.

What seems to have happened is two LUNS were presented to the system and then pulled back.

What do you mean by other? It shows you have redundant path.

Re: ioscan show sctl NO_HW

Hi,
sctl is the scsi pass-through driver and it's for scsi controllers. From data you posted I think the problem is that EVA controllers are not recognised. I'd check for SAN issues.
The reason why you cannot see scsi/c6t0d0 and scsi/c8t0d0 by ioscan -m dsf is that they are not in persistent DSF database.

Fabio

Re: ioscan show sctl NO_HW

Your storage admin may have presented and unpresented some paths. Have them check the zoning and ports from the array.

We moved a server from one type of array to another and even after the server was removed from their software the zones were still opened. Check your syslog to see if you have any messages about your lun paths going offline/online. The fix in my case was the storage admin deleting the zone and hosts from the old array.

Re: ioscan show sctl NO_HW

Hi,

As fabio said, could be the most appropriate response as NO_HW is only seen as a software binding state when the hardware is not responding. Do assign points for the members who have helped.
