Re: is it a vmunix problem??
Hi,
you may want to boot from cdrom, mount root_domain and look for vmunix. Should it be deleted, copy genvmunix to vmunix, reboot and build a new kernel.
greetings,
Michael
ps. If you need more details, ask.

Re: is it a vmunix problem??
You may try booting an alternate kernel, and then recompile a new one:
boot -fi genvmunix -fl s
bcheckrc
doconfig
cp /path/to/new/kernel /vmunix
reboot
But is not normal that only the vmunix file is deleted, maybe you have others files deleted or corrupted. You may need to restore a backup or reinstall the system.
boot -fi genvmunix -fl s
bcheckrc
doconfig
cp /path/to/new/kernel /vmunix
reboot

Por que hacerlo dificil si es posible hacerlo facil? - Why do it the hard way, when you can do it the easy way?

Re: is it a vmunix problem??
tsunami is the 'system chipset' for systems like DS20 and ES40.
What system is it?
What changed?
Did this system setup ever boot?
Try to boot a genvmunix and/or from CD as suggested.
If you are going to re-install
Why not go to a recent version (5.1B)
Any good reason to stay on Tru64 4.0G?
Good luck,
Hein.
