java zip error
Good day,
Has anyone ever seen this type of file permissions created by a java zip utility? I need to know how this happened and how I could fix the permissions.
natux23:/sasenv/biserver/Lev1/SASMeta/MetadataServer/Backups/ContentBackup# ll
.ziprwxrwx 1 root sas 1262297 Aug 31 11:38 ContentServerBackup120831

Re: java zip error
That is seriously wrong on the permissions.
Have you tried just doing a 'chmod' on the file to change the permissions to something else (anything else).
Something like:
chmod 000 ContentServerBackup120831
will completely blank out permissions. You should see the permissions displayed as all '-'s (10 of them to be precise). You could then change the permissions to something more suitable and verify that it displays correctly.
chmod 444 ContentServerBackup120831

Re: java zip error
There may be non-printable characters in the filename, which may actually explain the the way it is being displayed.
Try this:
# ll -b
The '-b' option will show non-printable characters in octal notation, so you should see some very strange looking output.
