kernel backup for hp ux 11i v1 and v3

1.how to take kernel backup for hp ux 11i v1 and
v3.


2.if not booted with old kernel how can i boot.

3if so i am booting with new kernel backup ,, how can i replace the vmunix file under stand since kernel name might be vmunix.prev, how can i replace this with vmunix.

Hi

For v1 a simple copy of the kernel will work.

cp /stand/vmunix /stand/vmunix.old

For V3 the command kconfig can be used to backup teh running kernel configuration

kconfig - manage kernel configurations

-s kernel.bkp kconfig will save the running kernel configuration under the name kernel.bkp
