Re: kernel panic

It's hard to say what caused to this crash.

I suggest you to test healph of your server (CPU/memory) by running memtest/cpuburn - from http://www.sysresccd.org, for example.

From another side, it may be a problem with kernel and/or kernel modules. Which distro do you use? Upgrade to the latest patch level.

Re: kernel panic

This was a NMI panic that was handled as an MCE (machine check exception.) Either the watchdog tripped, if set up, or an NMI was generated from the hardware to say "hey, something isn't right at the hardware level."

There is a "generate NMI" button within iLO which someone may have pressed, but either way, check the IML and/or other hardware/BIOS logs that may be available for clues (depending on hardware.)

Re: kernel panic

Thanks Vitaly, macosta,

It was nice to know about the recovery CD. Macosta, i have cleared the logs as there wasn't anything interesting. Let's see if it comes again.

cheers
