log server

Hello gentlemen.

I faced a problem while configuring TRU64 v5.1b as a log server.
it worked fine with all linux/Unix servers. but it didn't accept any logs from cisco routers.
in linux i configured syslog server and it worked fine with routers/linux/unix.
is there any special configuration for accepting routers logs should be done under tru64 environment.

thanks

Re: log server

Hi,

Try looking at the man page for syslogd and syslog.auth

I've not got a 5.1B box to look at at the moment, but on 4.0F it looks like you'd have to configure the remote hosts in /etc/syslog.auth.

Hope this helps,

Regards,
