Where are your users home directories located?
NFS?
Do your users use a history file?

Hi Robert,
its located at NIS master which is also unix server. It not use NFS.
I already go to home user at NIS master and there is no history file. May i know, what ur suggestion.

This kind of problems are usually hard to debug. I would try to understand what have changed and where the changes were made. Go through the NIS server and NIS client 's logs and try to find out any unusual problems reported in the near past. Reboot the NIS client if possible or at least restart the NIS client's daemons /sbin/init.d/nis.client stop/start )
