message Invalid vuid in Samba and the /var is full

Environment:

S.O. HP-UX 11i 64 bits
Samba version 3.0.22 based HP CIFS Server A.02.03.04a

I get the following messages in Samba:

# tail -f log.cpu1759
...
change_to_user: Invalid vuid used 103 in accessing share WORK.
[2009/06/11 12:06:23, 2] smbd/uid.c:change_to_user(247)
change_to_user: Invalid vuid used 103 in accessing share WORK.
...

These messages are repeated many times and the log file grows until the /var partition is full

My log level is: log level = 2
and the modification of this parameter is not an option.

This user id (103) apparently has nothing to do with the user listed in /etc/passwd:

# cat /etc/passwd | grep 103
iwww:*:103:1::/home/iwww:/sbin/sh

I have to remove the log and restart the samba. I have already done these steps earlier, but I'd like to know why this error is presented.
Thanks in advance.
