mounting cdrom

Hi Admins,

i am not able to mount the cdrom with rw and root=hostname options.It throws error like
exportfs -av
exportfs error: /cdrom: Read-only file system

I want to mount the cdrom over remote system with rw option so that patches can be installed remotely.

Please suggests

Hi Admins,

I have exported the cdrom using /cdrom -ro,root=hostname and tried to install on remote system but ended up with below error



ERROR: Could not open serial depot file ^├в
├в ├в "/cdrom/patch-delivery-27606.depot". Value too large to be ├в ├в
├в ├в stored in data type (72). If this file is a tape device, make ├в ├в
├в ├в sure a tape is loaded and is not write-protected.

Thanks for the thread.But my issue is different.And i have searched in forums before opening new thread.

As i mentioned in my previous thread m getting error while swinstall.

You should swcopy the patches to the disk, then you can use swinstall to install it to all the other servers.

mkdir /tmp/patches
swcopy -s /cdrom/PH******.depot \* @ /tmp/patches
Replace the PH****** with corresponding numeric and letters.
