Re: need CPU/Memory Utilization

Shalom,

sar is a great tool for this.

You can pull some good stuff out of the scripts there.

Re: need CPU/Memory Utilization

If you are looking for the past performance data, you need to check if the measureware agent (mwa) was running on your server during this time. If it was running, there should be logs under /var/opt/perf/datafiles, named log where is one or more of proc, dev, appl, glob, indx, tran.

Using the utility extract, you can pull all sorts of different data out of this system. Use of extract needs a bit getting used to but man page should be a good point to start playing with it.

If you do not have these files, there is no way that I know that you can have the data for the past week. But check root's crontab and see if sa1 and sa2 are scheduled to run periodically, which may help.

Re: need CPU/Memory Utilization

Hi,

Sanjeev is right. Here is the procedure how you can extract your data.

Frist Create a template file at /tmp/moni

root # more moni
REPORT "MWA Export on !SYSTEM_ID"
FORMAT ASCII
HEADINGS ON
SEPARATOR="|"
SUMMARY=60
MISSING=0
DATA TYPE GLOBAL
YEAR
DATE
TIME
GBL_CPU_TOTAL_UTIL
GBL_MEM_UTIL
GBL_SWAP_SPACE_UTIL
GBL_MEM_CACHE_HIT_PCT
GBL_DISK_UTIL_PEAK
GBL_FS_SPACE_UTIL_PEAK

then do

# cd /opt/perf/bin
# ./extract -xp -r /tmp/moni -g -b today 16:02 -e today 16:08 -f stdout

man page of extract says.

extract -xt [d|w|m|y -offset] [-v][-gapkdzcntuy]
[-l ] [-f ]
[-b

Re: need CPU/Memory Utilization

Hi Mike,
u can check the cpu utilsation by using below command
sar -u -f /var/adm/sa/saxx

check tha man pages for sar for other option like mem,disk etc.
