when I do ioscan a server I found some thing like "IRVOLUME".
0/4/1/0.0.0.4.0 1 LVM vg00 70007 HP DG072A8B54
0/4/1/0.0.0.6.0 1 LVM vg00 69878 HP IR Volume
I have to do mirror some lvs and have to extend some file systems on vg00, But I dont have enough space available for this. So I need to add the disks and proceed. What kind of disks I need to add and is there any special method of mirroring and file system expansion for this IRVOLUME..

Depend of the number of disk in the volume and in the sas controler you have, you should be able to add a disk and reconfigure with sasmgr utility.
Hope it helps

SolutionYou probably have a rx2660/rx3600/rx6600 server.
Use "ioscan" to find the controller device "e.g. /dev/sasd0) and run this command to check:
# sasmgr get_info -D /dev/sasd0 -q raid
So there is no need to do a LVM mirroring on this device.
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: need info reg "IRVOLUME"
Integrated RAID has the following benefits and features:
├в ┬в Support for up to ten disks per IME or IS volume, with one or two storage volumes per SAS controller. Each controller can support up to 12 volume disks, plus one or two hot spare disks, for a maximum of 14 disks per controller. (Support for this number of disks requires Integrated RAID firmware v1.20.00 or above.)
├в ┬в Support for two-disk IM mirrored volumes
├в ┬в Low cost RAID volume creation meets the needs of most internal
RAID installations
├в ┬в Easy to use - installation and configuration are not complex
├в ┬в System can boot from an IM, IME, or IS volume
├в ┬в No special OS-specific software required
├в ┬в High reliability and data integrity
├в Nonvolatile write journaling
├в Physical disks not visible to OS or to application software
├в ┬в Low host CPU and PCI bus utilization
├в ┬в Fusion-MPT architecture provides processing power
├в Shared memory architecture minimizes external memory requests
├в Functionality is contained in device hardware and firmware

Which are the lvs you need to extend ?
you can add disk into vg00 by vgextend command
