Solution200 MB may be a little too less.
The most safe way to extend it is doing an ignite backup and adjust sizes during restore.
Anyway, I would consider a cold install anyway for several reasons.
If you try an upgrade, make sure to have a good backup for fallback.

As everyone said ignite backup and restore is the preferred and supported way to extend the root filesystem. Take ignite backup with -I option for interactive restore.
#make_tape_backup -Av -I
Make sure that you have enough free PE's on root VG to extend the filesystems.
Also read that document to know the recommanded filesystem sizes for upgradation.
