netbackup process never die
We have Tru64 V5.1 PK6 (on AS GS140)running Veritas Netbackup client Version 3.4. We have problem when the backup running always failed after around 1.3 GB backup(Netbackup error 41)
It happen after sometimes, after 2 weeks of reboot.
The other thing is the netbackup process bpbkar was never die and I couldn't kill it using kill -9.
Anyone know what is wrong with it?

Re: netbackup process never die
Hi,
If you were running Tru64 5.1B with PK 3, it is normal to get "Error 41" which was related to a network bug from Tru64 and is fixed by a patch "Patch C 00407.01 - AT_G08565: Fix for premature connection termination"
However, if I were to assume you are using Tru64 5.1A PK6, then your bpbkar process could be hanging due to some configuration changes. You can find out more details or sometimes even fix the bpbkar from hannging by doing the following...!
Add the following to the client├в s bp. conf file:
VERBOSE
And as root on the client execute:
touch /usr/openv/netbackup/bpbkar_ path_tr
mkdir /usr/openv/netbackup/logs/bpbkar
Try and let me know..!
Cheers
