out of VG minor number?

Dear all,
one of our system has already used minor number 0x0100000 up to 0x0900000.
If we want to make new volume group, what minor number should we use? We already change the kernel value for maxvgs from default 10 to 100. Is there any other kernel value we must change?

no need.

you can use 0x1000000 next minor number

but here i got some information that minor number is hexadec numbers.. so if it really hexadec based, we should go to "a" after "9".. which one is correct, 0x100000 or 0x0a0000?

Hi

As you have changed the maxvg default value to 100, you can have 100 VG's in your system & as you have already used upto 9 so you can use
0x0a0000

Well, thank you guys..those were pretty nice and clear.
And one more question, does changing maxvgs have any side effect on the system? Cause we're gonna do it on our production system. We've tested it and on development site, but still can't take it for granted cause the system there isn't exactly same.
