panic (cpu 0): Processor Machine Check

Dear gurus,

I have a problem with an ES40 server running Tru64 Unix. I have searched for the same error but the bottom line in all replies is that a case should be opened with HP. I am not sure whether the servers are still being supported by HP. If you can, kindly assist me or point me to the right direction with this. I have tried to download WEBES but my connection is giving be trouble. I have attached crash logs that I collected. It's been a while since I worked on such a box... :)

Kind regards,

Rianui

You are absolutely right - an HP support case should be opened for this kind of fault. You almost certainly have some kind of hardware fault. The ES40 is still supported by HP for maintenance as far as I know.

Re: panic (cpu 0): Processor Machine Check

Hi,

Can you post the binary.errlog file? It appears to be a CPU issue, but could be other areas as well.

The error log will have more information.

Re: panic (cpu 0): Processor Machine Check

Hi guys,

Thanks for the responses.
I opened a case with HP who analyzed the logs and found out two memory modules faulty, different from the ones I had initially suspected :) I will be replacing them soon.

Let me know should you require any other info from me.

Kind regards,

Rianui
