parmodify command from a vpar : question.

Hi Experts,

I am having 3 vpar  in npar#0 , I would liek to change the boot disk  right now it is pointing to  vpar1,  I want to chagne boot disk of npar to vpar2.

Is it possible to use parmodify command and to change the boot disk from sitting in the  vpar.

Thanks in advance.

Re: parmodify command from a vpar : question.

Question :  from vpar1:>  can I run :  # parmodify -p 0 -b 2/1/1/0/2/0.6.0

And then reconfiguration reboot. Is it going to store in the npar configuration,

Thanks.

Re: parmodify command from a vpar : question.

Experts,

seems I got a solution,  the server is PA-RISC , and seems for PA-RISC  parmodify is supported withing /from a vpar.

(below in : 2nd bullet having the answer)

To modify stable storage, you must either:

  • go into standalone/nPars mode and use setboot or parmodify

  • use parmodify for PA-RISC nPartitionable servers (parmodify is not supported from within the vPars environment on Integrity servers)

  • go to the BCH for PA-RISC or EFI Shell for Integrity systems

Thanks...
