patch bundle installation
while doing patch installation ,, these steps were done
Stop Measureware agent and kill ttd daemon
# /sbin/init.d/mwa stop
# /opt/perf/bin/ttd тАУk
Stop CDE environment and print spooler
# /usr/dt/bin/dtconfig тАУd
# /usr/dt/bin/dtconfig тАУkill
# lpshut
why it is used for ??????

Hello!!!
The steps are used for graceful shutdown of all services running on your server before you proceed with patch bundle installation. Because; after patch installation; you need to reboot the server. Force shutdown of services may cause unexpected damages.

Stop Measureware agent and kill ttd daemon
Stop CDE environment and print spooler
These are application which is running in your server.
When we reboot or halt the server its recommended that this application need to stop manually otherwise next time when your server going to boot may some files got damage or corrupt or your application won't start. To avoid from this type of trouble we shutdown manually,
