how to decide or check the patch level of the system .

#swlist -l patch

Hi


On the server execute the command

#swlist

look out for the lines of Feature11,HWEnable11,QPKBAse,QPKApps etc.


these lines will tell you the month and year of the corresponding patch bundles.


look at the folowing excerpt from one system.

FEATURE11-11 B.11.11.0209.5 Feature Enablement Patches for HP-UX 11i, Sept 2002
GOLDAPPS11i B.11.11.0712.475 Applications Patches for HP-UX 11i v1, December 2007
GOLDBASE11i B.11.11.0806.476 Base Patches for HP-UX 11i v1, May 2008
HWEnable11i B.11.11.0612.458 Hardware Enablement Patches for HP-UX 11i v1, December 2006

You already got the answers as how to know about existing patch level.

Visit the following link and follow the steps (download/upload)and you will get to know what your server requires to become the latest and greatest.
Basically, it will give you info about the latest patches that are available for your server.
