Re: patch.
HPUX does not have so called maintenance level patches like AIX does. As a matter of fact, hpux patches bundles are commonly packed together patches and not necessarily a requirement to be applied all together. The patch level on HPUX is a very loose term, let alone having ML patches. Hence proceed with caution with the responses you will get.

Re: patch.
I presume that you are using the AIX terminology for patch levels. A single "maintenance level" doesn't exist on HP-UX.
The closest we have to a "maintenance level" would be either the date of the standard patch bundles and/or the date of the "update release" for current releases with Operating Environments that are refreshed.
For example, for 11.31:
The most recent, standard patch bundle is:
QPK1131 (B.11.31.0903.334a)
The '0903' signifies the year and month.
The most recent Operating Environment update would be "update-4":

You can use 'swlist' to find what you have installed:
# swlist

SolutionIf a bug comes along, your best bet is to report it to HP and hope that someone else had the same bug before you did and hp already has a patch fix (single patch or a pack of few patches bundled together) for you.

Re: patch.
If a but comes up with hp-ux you should look at the logs, or analyse the crash dump and see if you can match it to the patch database and find an appropriate patch.
HP support for software is useful in this process.
You should put bi-annual updates on your HP-UX systems as a proactive matter of course.
It prevents a lot of problems.

Re: patch.
...and so given the way you originally framed your question, what is it that my answer didn't provide? You asked specifically about "Maintenance Level(s)". I answered that.
