Hi,

We have Redhat Enterprise Linux 4.0 on GFS running Oracle Database.

Under /var/log/messages file; we are seeing repeated following messages.

Apr 1 00:06:49 server1telnetd[22928]: ttloop: peer died: Invalid or incomplete multibyte or wide character
Apr 1 00:06:55 server1telnetd[23081]: ttloop: peer died: Invalid or incomplete multibyte or wide character
Apr 1 00:07:01 server1telnetd[23235]: ttloop: peer died: Invalid or incomplete multibyte or wide character
Apr 1 00:07:07 server1telnetd[24249]: ttloop: peer died: Invalid or incomplete multibyte or wide character
Apr 1 00:07:13 server1telnetd[24403]: ttloop: peer died: Invalid or incomplete multibyte or wide character

any idea what is the cause of this message.

Maybe someone is trying to connect too fast via telnet. See this - http://justlinux.com/forum/archive/index.php/t-50050.html

Someone with telnet client (not configured kerberos properly) is trying to login. Figure out who and ask them to login with right permissions or check if they are authorized to use the system.
