Re: permanently dumping physical memory
immediately log a Hardware case with HP to get the MP logs analysed and to see if there is an hardware isssue there.

in the BCH when you do search what do you see, are not you able to see the tape device or DVD rom?
Please post the O/Ps of the search command or any other screen shots/errror messages that is there trying to boot using the CD/ DVD

The HP-UX kernel seems to be panicing because the root filesystem has detected serious errors and the root filesystem cannot be mounted.
If booting from a DVD causes the system to crash before you can start the OS installation, there is probably something wrong with the system's SCSI controller or internal SCSI cabling/backplane, i.e. it is a hardware issue. It's time to make a support call.
See Figure 1-4 on page 20 and the entire page 27 of the rp8420 User Service Guide:

SolutionDocumented solutions to this problem of a corrupted LIF area : Get a recovery disk and recovery the LIF area, then get to singler user and reset all the boot paths and dump, swap and root area with lvlnboot and setboot.
