pkgutils on hpux

My company produces internally packaged software releases that require pkgutils on HPUX to extract/install. However, and quite to my amazement, the same group of people have no idea where to get the hpux version of these utilities:
pkgadd
pkginfo
etc...
Neither does the WWW in general as I've searched google, software.hp.com and itrc.hp.com at length and found nothing.

Anyone here know where I can find a depot file with the pkgutils in it for install on hpux 11.11?

I'll take bootleg, fake, real, anything at this point.

Thanks,

On what? Around here, only Solaris knows
anything about the pkgXXX stuff. And the
"man" pages suggest:

The Solaris operating system relies
upon enhanced System V revision 4
(SVr4) packages as the basis for its
software installation and revision
management.

So far as I know, "enhanced" or not, SVR4 is
not open-source, so if your commercial UNIX
vendor (HP) doesn't offer these programs,
then you may be out of luck, other than to
run the stuff on a Solaris system, and direct
the installation destination (or source) to
an NFS-remote non-Solaris system.

Re: pkgutils on hpux

Agreed, it is a strange thing, but it does work. I've got installations elsewhere on other machines...

# uname -a
HP-UX hostname B.11.11 U 9000/800 909017836 unlimited-user license
# swlist |grep -i pkg
pkgutil 1.06 pkgutil

..., I just don't have the depot file originally used to install it. Can't seem to find anybody who knows where to get this thing.

Yes, I saw that as well, but they want you to PAY for what is FREE.

Interesting the only links on WWW for hpux pkgutil are those.

Re: pkgutils on hpux

I think what you are seeing is the information for buying the ENTIRE collection of utilities already compiled and put on some sort of media or in one big download.

However, when I click on the download link, in the 2nd link I posted, for the depot file I can download it.

Re: pkgutils on hpux

I was able, finally, to source this software internally after a really exhausting set of cascading referrals.

Regarding TheWrittenWord's offering...

checkout the answers I got when asking them via email about their files:

We developed them but they are covered by the GPL v2 and above.

We developed the software so we wrote everything.

No.
