print queue disables instantly

I have hpux 11.23 running and a print queue installed on this and another server (running hpux 11.11). The printer is pingable from both servers. I can print a test page from the 11.11 server. On the 11.23 server, the queue is disabled and when I enable it, it is immediately disabled. There are a couple of test prints in the queue. Anyone have rubber chicken (or an idea)? Thanks

can you remove print queue and install it again in hpux 11.23 server.

is there any error in /var/spool/lp?
how you able to print test page?

I dropped the queue and recreated it. This seems to be the fix for problems with this type printer - though I am at a loss to understand why the queue gets dysfunctional. thanks
