prngd and Strong Random Number Generator KRNG11i versions

Hello . HP UX 11v1 installed.

write() in socket_write() failed: Broken pipe message in syslog.log

I would like to know how to check what version of prngd or KRNG I have installed in my system.

Try swlist.

# swlist -l product | grep -i random

If you have the HP-UX KRNG product installed, it should show up here.

I do not have installed Strong Random Number Generator KRNG11i, I executed the command suggested. What about prngd. does it form part of OpenSSL or where can I installed from?

how can I check the version of prngd?

Hello. I have executed this command, I have installed


/opt/openssl/prngd/prngd -v
prngd 0.9.26 (12 Jul 2002)

I think I have to install a newer version.

It seems to me prngd version is 0.9.26 even in the latest openssl bundle (A.00.09.08h.040) for v3.
