pvdisplay

Hi Admins,

i heard that pvdisplay -l is used to check the specific disk is under control of LVM.

pvdisplay -l /dev/dsk/c0t0d0
/dev/dsk/c0t0d0:LVM_DISK=yes

But in my B.11.23 server shows value as NO.The same disk lists under /etc/lvmtab which is my root disk.

Please suggets on this

Regards
Pavan

Re: pvdisplay

Are you saying that this is your root disk? The pvdisplay output, according to the man page, indicates that this "physical volume is not under LVM control".

Re: pvdisplay

hi,

can you post the output in your 11.23 server.

# pvdisplay -l /dev/dsk/c0t0d0
# vgdisplay -v vg00
# strings /etc/lvmtab
Computers have lots of memory but no imagination

Re: pvdisplay

Integrity server???

This is normal.

Try

pvdisplay -l /dev/dsk/c0t0d0s2

because "s2" is part of LVM only!

Hope this helps!

Torsten.

Re: pvdisplay

Exactly:

PV Name /dev/dsk/c3t0d0s2

Only partition 2 of this disk is under LVM control, not the whole disk.

This is normal, no need to worry.

Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.
