I've met this issue serveral time when deal with STM, in cstm it show:
SD3-4:[/tmp/collect] #cstm
Running Command File (/usr/sbin/stm/ui/config/.stmrc).
-- Error --

hostname (SD3-4).

at first check the version of STM,
and try to restart the the monitoring daemon.

in what way, as you mentioned, to restart the monitor daemon? I stopped service in mstm and diagmond and diaglogd then stopped, and when I started service in mstm again, only diagmond were their, I tried to start diaglogd manually, it hung. how could I operate at cstm or mstm?

Which is your OS version and STM version.
just donwload the latest version and upgrade the same. what is the current patch level??
