"alias database /etc/mail/aliases.db out of date"

Got this message in /var/adm/syslog/mail.log:

alias database /etc/mail/aliases.db out of date

Any thoughts???

You may have made changes to your /etc/mail/aliases and did not run the required newaliases command. To get rid of this message run

# newaliases

Run the newaliases command. This will rebuild the database for the mail aliases file.
man newaliases

Do the command /usr/lib/sendmail -bi

This is the same as the newaliases command and will update the aliases file.
I agree with the previous reply, the aliases file was modified and not updated to reflect changes
