Hi Guys,
Can I check if I have a rx6600 install with smart array p800 and os 11.31 unix , the harddisk is configure with 2 raid 5 and 1 raid one, assuning if the controller fail, is there a way I can backup the raid configuraion and by replacing the smart array card it will just retrieve back the raid config and recognised the raid that I have configure previous. Please advice.
Regards
Vincent

Solution
If you have a RAID 5 you have a smartarray for sure. check ioscan -fn first to see what you have ...
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: re : smart array p800
Forgot to say you can get all related information via sautil and saconfig tools to keep and store it.
If the controller fails and you replace this, the new controller will pick up the current configuration from the disks - no way to / no need to restore the config to the controller manually.
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.
