restart command not working with autolisteners

Hello I am on ServiceCenter 9.4 and most of our ports and processes (http ports, schedulers, email, sync) can be restarted by the following command:

sm -restart:n [-host:host name or IP address] [-pid:process ID]

When I try restarting the autolisteners by their pid, they try to restart but never do.  Does anyone know if this command works for autolisteners.  If not is there another way to restart the autolisteners besides doing a kill to bring it down and a nohup to bring it back up?
