Re: restoring the files from TSM

Hi:

And "TSM" would be...Tivoli Storage Manager?

It's always helpful to _define_ acronyms.

If I'm correct (insofar as what TSM is), then perhaps you would want to consult IBM's product documentation.

Re: restoring the files from TSM

Hi,

Create a directory in /tmp

# mkdir /tmp/restore

# dsmc query backup "/compas/oradata/admin/auto/arch/*"

# dsmc restore /compas/oradata/admin/auto/arch/auto_arch18263.log /tmp/restore/auto_arch18263.log

Re: restoring the files from TSM

Hi,

Check the following location. TSM client should be default installed in /opt/tivoli/tsm/client/ba/bin.

You could also check if the client is installed by using the swlist command.

# swlist -l fileset | grep TIVsm

Gee, Robert even pointed you to the IBM documentation. There seems to be a wealth of stuff there.

You said that "this is the first time i worked like this case". Does that mean you're a consultant getting paid to handle this? Why not _READ_ a little?

Re: restoring the files from TSM

Apparently so, according to this (which I found by typing 'bpcd' into the Google search box):
