root account disable - /dev/vg00/lvol7 is corrupted

Hi.
the root account is disabled, due to loss of root password. After trying the root PW, the account was disabled.
So, I went the known way of
1)single user mode
2)ISL
3)hpux -is
4)mount /usr in order to modprpw -k or to use the vi
5)mount /var and mount /tmp
I always receive /dev/vg00/lvol7 is corrupted, needs checking

The system worked just fine, before I brought it down. If I bring the system back into multi user mode, all applications work just fine. What can I do? any ideas?
thanks Barbara

Barbara,

It probably just needs a fsck... rather than mucking around manually mounting/checking stuff once you are at single user mode, just run:

/sbin/bcheckrc

that should take care of your lvol7
