rp8420 - 11.11 - not seeing full RAM

Hi,

rp8420 with 4 x cells fully populated each with 32G of RAM. The system has 2 x npars: npar1 and npar2 with 2 x cells per npar.

when running manifest from npar1 we get:
System Hardware

Model: 9000/800/rp8420
Main Memory: 16364 MB
Processors: 16
OS mode: 64 bit

while npar2 shows:
System Hardware

Model: 9000/800/rp8420
Main Memory: 65501 MB
Processors: 16
OS mode: 64 bit

SAM shows only 16G for npar1
while MP:CM>PS and STM show the full memory(64G) (see attached)

Re: rp8420 - 11.11 - not seeing full RAM

Shalom,

As root on the affected system.

vparstatus -A

vparstatus -P hostname

Check or post back.

I can only conclude that the vparcreate creation of one of these systems left memory out intended for it.

Based on partstatus and stm, I would think 16 GB of ram might be not where you expected it to be.

Re: rp8420 - 11.11 - not seeing full RAM

Could you run parstatus and see how much memory it is showing on each cell?

Check what SEP wrote...I have a nasty feeling that that's the case here...

Re: rp8420 - 11.11 - not seeing full RAM

we are note using any VPARS only NPARS

is it normal to see MEMROY RANGES = 0?

Thank you
