For java installation always use http://java.sun.com/ and download appropriate version for you.

Rather than going for java rpm, download its sourcecode, untar it and place it in the location where you want it to be.
Then you just need to configure the environment variable ie. JAVA_HOME and PATH.
This will be enough.
