rx3600 How to configure DHCP server in IPv4 with B.11.31 March 2008
rx3600 How to configure DHCP server in IPv4 with B.11.31 March 2008
I installed HP-UX 11iv3 (B.11.31 March 2008) on an rx3600.
I intend to setup this server as a DHCP server for a few set of PCs.
The rx3600 is configured with IPv4 addresses and subnet mask:
IP: 192.168.37.10
Mask: 255.255.255.0
Yet, it seems that DHCP is only configurable as IPv6.
What is the impact for my existing IPv4 setup ?
What is the equivalence between IPv4 and IPv6 ?
I didn't find any reference to DHCP setup in the HPUX 11iv3 Admin Guide.
Steps to setup DHCPv6 will be welcome.
Regards.

The document you week is probably elsewhere.
http://docs.hp.com/en/B2355-60130/index.html
I do believe that rx3600 servers are better suited for fixed IP configuration as a server.

Re: rx3600 How to configure DHCP server in IPv4 with B.11.31 March 2008
It seems there's no way to configure DHCP for IPv4 addresses on HP-UX B.11.31 ?
My server IP addresses are IPv4
I have a set of desktop PCs with fixed IPv4.
From time to time, we want to connect some laptops to the same network with dynamic allocated IPv4 addresses (in a reserved range in the same network).
Any suggestion is welcome.
Regards.
