Re: sam error
Please check whether the lates SAM/Obam patch is installed on your computer.
BTW, which operation do you want to do with SAM ? You can do everything in command line.
Good Luck

Re: sam error
What is the HP-UX version and server you have?
It seems that a device driver which is cobfigured in kernel is having trouble
queried by Sam. Sam is reporting error for
arch_scan.C module referred by the device driver. It's arch_err_handler.C module is trying to find the errors in the error table which are in device driver in the kerenel.
Just ensure you have latest patches installed in your system.

SolutionIt seems some problem with SAM registry files not there/corrupted. You can install the latest SAM patch which will copy the registry files also.
1) check whether these files exist in the /etc/sam directory
reg_da.db
reg_files.db
reg_tm.db
2) Try the following
a. move all the above files to some other directory
b. copy the above 3 files from /usr/newconfig/etc/sam to /etc/sam
3) If not solved, then suggest to install the following patch + dependencies
11.11 PHCO_31314 cumulative SAM patch
11.00 PHCO_31879 cumulative SAM/ObAM patch
Hope this helps
