Hi Abubakkar

SAMLOG -> should be SAM ( System adminitrator Manager ) log file.

syslog -> is the log of the OS ( operative system )

Re: samlog

Hi

syslog logs all the system messages. While samlog is logs all the actions taken by SAM.

Have a look at following for more details about SAM(System Administrator Manager):
http://docs.hp.com/en/B2355-90692/sam.1M.html

Re: samlog

Hi,
SAM log shows the logs rlated with the activities done through SAM.
Its location is /var/sam/log/samlog.
Syslog is the OS log as mentioned in above reply.
Its path is /var/adm/syslog/syslog.log
In this file OS write the logs depends upon its configuration file /etc/syslog.conf.
