SAMLOG -> should be SAM ( System adminitrator Manager ) log file.
syslog -> is the log of the OS ( operative system )

Solutionsyslog logs all the system messages. While samlog is logs all the actions taken by SAM.

SAM log shows the logs rlated with the activities done through SAM.
Its location is /var/sam/log/samlog.
Syslog is the OS log as mentioned in above reply.
Its path is /var/adm/syslog/syslog.log
In this file OS write the logs depends upon its configuration file /etc/syslog.conf.
