the SAN HBA should be supported by the HP-UX,
Hitachi = HDLM
EMC = Powerpath
HP = SecurePath
HPUX 11.31 = have a new implementation of multipath software inside the OS.
Each vendor have ovn SW for multipathig.

try
swlist |grep -i "secure" and look for secure path
secure path display
for emc
swlist |grep -i power and look for power path
powermt display dev=all
if using only hp alternate links
vgdiplay -v vg01 |grep -i "alternate links"
