scp or ftp which is faster or better on hp-ux
Hello,
I need to copy a large file having 60Gig size from one HP-UX server to another server.
Which is the faster method out of the 2 scp or ftp.
The file is some image file and can't be compressed much and even after compression its size will be at 50Gigs.
I am not able to copy such a large size file as it gave some errors and came out.
Thanks,
Shiv

Do you really think that any free advice you'll get here will be more
accurate or reliable than a simple experiment (with a file of, say a
gigabyte or two)? (Or that you'll get a useful answer here sooner?)

"I am not able" is not a useful problem description. My psychic
powers are too weak to tell me what you did or what happened when you
did it. As usual, showing actual commands with their actual output can
be more helpful than vague descriptions or interpretations. You might
start with, say:
uname -a

Yes, ftp would be quicker, since no encryption and it may send data in bigger blocks.
And even if it takes a long time, quicker is quicker. :-)
