Re: server reboot
Have a look at the /etc/shutdownlog or check for entries around the time of the reboot in the /var/adm/syslog/OLDsyslog.log
Regards.

Re: server reboot
check syslog.log shutdown.log and the event logs in MP/GSP.

Re: server reboot
if the server went down gracefully or due to a recorded panic, it will show up there
if it was a crash, check the contents of /var/tombstones/ts99 for clues
last but not the least check the bottom portion of /var/adm/syslog/OLDsyslog.log
hope this helps
UNIX because I majored in cryptology...

Re: server reboot
There are many reasons for the server to go for a reboot.
If it is user initiated, check in /etc/shutdownlog and /var/adm/syslog/syslog.log
If it is software panic reboot, check /var/adm/crash directory. There will be crash.x directory with dump files. We need to analyse the dump files to find out the software issues.
If the panic is due to hardware failure, check the file /var/tombstones/ts99. If this file is created with server reboot time, you can analyse it. It is a text file only.
If the server rebooted abrubtly due to power outage, then you won't find any clue on the OS side.
To analyse crash dump and ts99 file, you may need HP help.
