setting block size for LTO4

can any one help in telling me where to set the block size for LTO4 tape drive.
i am using netbackup, i have configured netbackup and when we tell netbackup to us 1mb block sizes it errors and i think i need to set in kernel or elsewhere.
can some one tell me where to set this, i have set shmmax and shmmni to relervant netbackup reqiurements.

Please let us have the os and netbackup release and the details of the error messages.
Have a look at ioscan -fnC tape.

If it is using the stape driver you might try setting kernel paramter st_large_recs to 1 for true .
