And change /etc/rc.config.d/hp*conf to make the change permanent. The files correspond to your lan card's driver:

btlan hpbtlanconf
btlan0 hpeisabtconf
btlan1 hpbasetconf
btlan3 hpbase100conf
btlan4 hpgsc100conf
btlan5 hppci100conf
btlan6 hpsppci100conf
igelan hpigelanconf
iether hpietherconf
?????? hpetherconf
?????? hpgelanconf

Hi Khilari,

You can do it through SAM also. SAM-Networking and communications-Network Interface cards-select the network card-Actions-Autoneg->Auto

If you do it through SAM, it will make the changes permenantly.
Best wishes,

Ganesh.

But depending on the LAN card type, it will go through a reset and definitely scramble any connections. Don't try this with the LAN card you are using to issue the command. Also note that auto on can be a problem with 100 Mbit. Specifically, when you see duplex = half, auto should be off and duplex set to full (for the vast majority of 100 Mbit installations).
