simple scripts for centralised monitoring for hundreds of servers

Dear UNIX gurus,
would like to seek your advice on efficient way of monitoring hundreds of servers.
I want to monitor syslog, filesystem > 80% and monitor rootvg mirror state. and all this log to direct to a single host.
There is a rich forum on script in itrc, but it is very complex for me since i don't have basic in scripting at all. do u have simple script and can be used for IBM AIX too.

Hope to hear from you. Many thanks in advance. promise of good points.

Nothing particularly simple to write from scratch. For the basic monitoring you mentioned, Xymon (formerly Hobbit) is a free option.

Dear Sir,
Thank you for your reply. currently we have third party monitoring tool monitoring. but i feel maintaining this third party monitoring is tricky. certain thing are beyond control sometimes ie the clients lost disovery from the management software for no reason and we escalated, it is due to version, and we need to update to the latest version etc.
