That's correct. But an interactive swinstall will wait until you reply. But you can't use another swinstall nor abort it (it will reboot).

I also need to extend npty kernel parameter, you know it required reboot also. I tried deferred kernel update method to postpone reboot, I mean after patches installed, when I check the parameter npty I saw it did not change. But I tried it in my lab with the same HP-UX OS 11i v1 and worked. is there any way to do it ?

You should be able to do both at once. You would have to do your kernel parm changes first.
