swa report error ????

After patching some servers, I ran an new swa report and the patches I've just applied on the server are still showing in the report as being needed for installation...

I verified that patches were installed via swlist and they are applied...

Any ideas ??

Re: swa report error ????

Hi Mike:

I have never seen this problem. What is your setting for 'inventory_max_age'? I use a value of zero (0) to insure that a new inventory is always performed when generating a report.

Re: swa report error ????

couple of servers it works just fine, and all the servers have the same software and patches installed, which is what is really confusing me on this one...

/opt/swa/bin/swa report -x catalog=/root/.swa/cache/swa_catalog.xml -x catalog_max_age=0

Re: swa report error ????

I just removed two files:

/root/.swa/cache]:
-rw------- 1 root sys 71856 Sep 15 10:23 swa_analysis.xml
-rw------- 1 root sys 702921 Sep 13 21:02 swa_inventory_2875771339.xml

Then ran the report again and it worked just fine this time.....

Re: swa report error ????

Hi (again) Mike:

I believe that the 'inventory_max_age' defaults to 24-hours. I use '-x inventory_max_age=0' (although actually I specify that in my '.swa.conf').

Re: swa report error ????

Mike,

See the "swa clean" option, which clears out those files.

Re: swa report error ????

I did not have any parameters coded in the swa.conf file...

I did add inventory_max_age=0 to the file and problem resolved...

Thanks
