swinstall

I am trying to install package unzip / zip on 11.31 OS.

But it is promting for 'Alternate root Path'
and even inspite of giving correct path it is saying please mention the absolute path and try again...

Pls suggest...Urgent

Hi,
Where do you get the package? From the porting center I never have problem

zip-3.0-ia64-11.31.depot: tar file

Hi,

as asked please post the swinstall command you type.

Anyway, as the urgency, I suppose you don't have a winodws system where unzip/zip your urgent files.

Yes, please do so and post the information you have been asked for.

Let's assume your file is in /tmp do

# swlist -s /tmp/zip-3.0-ia64-11.31.depot

You might need to put a full path before the depot. Something like:

swinstall -s /tmp/****.depot

Or better, post more detailed info about the problem.
