syslog.log and date commands do not show the same time
Hi!
I am running HP-UX 11.31 on i4 blades.
When I type date command, it shows Dec 18 12:00:17; but when I type date command, it shows Dec 18:10:00:17
I have configured the system for mountain time so date command shows correct time but syslog.log still shows EST.
Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance.

You can change date by just exporting TZ. And possibly editing /etc/TIMEZONE and logging in again.
But to change the time zone for syslog.log, you would need to restart the demons.
Which in practice may be not be so easy.

Re: syslog.log and date commands do not show the same time
Thank You.
That was my thought too, because when I checked TIMEZONE file and TZ variable, it was set for correct time and zone. Only option was could see was to reboot.
I appreciate your input.

If you are going to reboot anyway, you might want to experiment with restarting the demons.
