Re: system kernel parameters best practise (tune)

See this link for Oracle 10G recommended kernel settings for RHEL4 (should work for RHEL5 as well):
http://www.oracle.com/technology/pub/articles/smiley_10gdb_install.html

There is also a link on the page for Oracle 11G for RHEL5.

Re: system kernel parameters best practise (tune)

Hi,
I never see best practise to tune linux but there is a lot of good doc about tuning linux even in ibm redbooks, look for example
https://www.redhat.com/f/pdf/summit/RedHatEnterprisePerfTuning.pdf
http://www.puschitz.com/TuningLinuxForOracle.shtml
http://www.redhat.com/docs/wp/performancetuning/iotuning/index.html
on
http://people.redhat.com/dshaks thereis a presentation of tuning guide.
Hope it helps
