tombstone

Greetings,

I have a K420 running 10.20 and for some reason there isn't a tombstone directory under /var . Any suggestions on how to fix and to verify tombstones are getting dumped other then a reboot?

Re: tombstone

Check if you have the file /usr/sbin/diag/contrib/pdcinfo
This command is used to dump the PIM to the tsxx files

Re: tombstone

Do you have HP diagnostics installed - product OnlineDiag and if so what version.

I recall that tombstones were introduced at a particular version on OnlineDiag but can't remember which one.

Re: tombstone

Just try to create the /var/tombstones by hand.
Here are the perms:

Re: tombstone

Check out patch PHSS_14980.
Tombstones are created with the DIAGS package being loaded. Need to toggle the pdcinfo file from 0 to 1

Re: tombstone

If you can't find pdcinfo on your box and the online diagnostics is installed than install PHSS_14980. This patch needs the diag2 driver on the system which is only installed with the diagnostics
