tsm on hpux

[David Willams]

I am trying to install tsm on hpux

model: rx1620
OS: hpux 11.13

I initially had the below file and untared it

now I have the below

now where do i go and install it and how do i invoke it...

Try

# swlist -s [full_path]/5.5.4.0-TIV-TSMSRV-HPUXIA64.tar

use the full path!

If this works, do the same with swinstall.

OK, now the same with swinstall.

# swinstall -s /tsm

automatic:

# swinstall -s /tsm \*

I did swinstall -s /tsm and it ended with the below errors

line) with the additional option "-x ask=as_needed".

Refer to HP documentation if you need more information on swinstall.

The procedure for installing/upgrading the TSM Server on HP is:
- deinstall any old server with swremove .
For example: swremove TIVsmS64.server

- install new server with swinstall -s -x ask=as_needed .
For example: swinstall -s /cdrom -x ask=as_needed TIVsmS64.server

ERROR: The "preinstall" script for "TIVsmS64IA.server" failed (exit
code "1"). The script location was
"/var/tmp/BAAa29529/catalog/TIVsmS64IA/server/preinstall".
